If I had a dollar for every time someone criticized me for spending too much money for skincare, I'd have enough money to spend on my skincare, LOL. And don't get me wrong I know the struggle but we all have those things that we buy to treat ourselves. For you it's shoes, bags, clothes, all the things that will deteriorate and mean nothing when you're old, while for me it's my face cause I have to live with it for the rest of my life.
Okay let me stop! I do get it and I wanted to put together this post to help those with high end skin dreams on a drugstore budget! Contrary to what you might think, I use a lot of drugstore products. I love Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS and Target. Well maybe not Target! Target is out here with Peter Thomas Roth Skincare!! That stuff starts at $50, the nerve! So I am going to focus on the real drugstore products, not just products that are available at a drugstore. Neutrogena, Simple, Botanics, Oil of Olay, and many others. These items are strictly drugstore without completely breaking your pockets. Let's begin with my recommendations.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes are by far my favorite to use to remove makeup from the drugstore. These wipes only cost $6.99. They are great for removing makeup, dirt and oil from your face, one wipe can clean your entire face. Please remember these wipes are only to clean off your makeup not "clean" your face. Thats a no go! You actually need to clean your face with a cleanser when you are done. I cannot stress that enough!
One of my favorite cleansers available at the drugstore is Urban Skin RX Cleansing Bar. Now I know I said I would not recommend any Target high end but this bar is only $12.99 and it lasts a long time. Plus, this bar is about to be in Walgreens and CVS, so there you go! If you think $12.99 is still too high then I would grab Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash for $7.99. I love this brand because it is gentle on the skin but gets the job done. Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser is also one of my faves but again in Target and has the nerve to be $18.
My favorite facial oil that can be picked up from Walgreens is Botanics Organic Facial Oil. Now don't kill me, this oil is $17.99, however Walgreens frequently has BOGO 50% off on this brand. I live for this oil, it's hydrating and not heavy on my skin. Also, you are not pouring this oil like it's conditioner, a drop will do.
The Simple Moisturizer Gel is something that came in my Allure Box that was a wonderful surprise. I love the texture and feel of this on my skin and it's only $7.99, come on somebody!
Some of my favorite masks are from the drugstore and I've mentioned them before in other posts. L'Oreal Pure Clay Mask is the number one mask I use to clarify my skin. It costs $12.99 but is currently on sale at Walgreens, BOGO 50% off. Yes to Products has some great face masks as well and they are only $2.99.
So those are my favorite skincare products that you don't have to go to the mall to purchase, specifically Sephora! LOL.
I hope this helps and if you have some other products that are amazing, let a girl know. You know I am trying to get out of debt by June 2019. Help me Jesus!
