Over the summer I decided I wanted to have Friday morning breakfast. In the town where I am from, a new cafe opened up that was so instagram worthy I had to go! I decided that early Friday mornings before work I was going to go to this cafe and get some time to myself. Well that didn't last long! After about 2 weeks, my friend Barri started coming. And then a few weeks later Erica started coming and then Keresse. LOL
I remember the first time Barri came. We walked up to each other outside the cafe and the first thing she said to me was, "I need a hug." I embraced my friend and could tell she was hurting. We went in and she shared about what was happening. I want to believe that by the end of it she felt better, I mean I am the best friend ever. LOL But seriously I will say when I left her that day, I thanked God that we got together for breakfast.
When Erica started coming she was transitioning from a job she worked for, for ten years. We talked about what she wanted to do going forward and if she wanted to go back in that industry. She looked me in my face and said," No." We immediately brainstormed on what to do next. We gave her our support, our advice and made sure to encourage her to follow her dreams. We wanted to make sure she knew she was not alone.
When Keresse started coming, she was just excited about the sisterhood. Whether it's listening to her about her "baby father" who's actually her husband (LOL) or her fashion brand taking the world by storm. She loves that this sisterhood breakfast keeps her on track with her goals. And if she could really have her way it would just be me and her! LOL
This sisterhood is continuing to bloom. We have gotten to know each other better, love each other better and support each other better. Something better than I could have imagined. And from this I know more is to come! It's crazy how God will put something on your heart and it turn into something so unexpected. There are plenty of times someone is missing on a Friday or we skip a Friday because of our scheduling but when we finally get together, it's like a breath of fresh air.
I can't thank my sisterhood enough. I can't thank them enough for their support, their advice, their laughs on Friday mornings I am truly a different person because of our girlfriend gang. So as long as they keep showing up so will I. I mean truthfully, even if they don't I will anyway because the French Toast is to die for!
#dearJackie&Son thank you for breakfast
