January 2018 is when I began taking my skincare serious. I put out a goal and I crushed it, if I do say so myself! Now if I could only do that with the rest of my life, but I digress. Anyway, once I got my routine together I started looking into skincare tools. I researched and found some awesome brands that offered at home skincare tools. Because let's all be honest, I don't have the money or time to get facials as much as I would like. On top of the difficulty of finding a dermatologist that loves my face as much as I do, is damn near impossible. So here are my skincare tool recommendations. These tools are amazing and are apart of my routine, daily, weekly or monthly.
Let me start with my all time favorite tool, the DERMAFLASH. So when I first bought this tool I sliced my face. LOL It sounds more terrible than it was. I was so excited to use it that I skipped the instructions and got to flashing. That was a huge mistake and I paid for it. But on my second go round I got it just right. This tool "shaves" off your peach fuzz and exfoliates your skin. Literally you will see debris fall from your face as you use it, it is the greatest thing ever. Your skin is left smooth as a baby's ass, yup ass! When I first used it, I used it weekly. I just wanted to revert my skin back to when I was 5 years old. However, it is true that you can have too much of a good thing. My face basically told me to calm down and I changed to using it once a month because that is all I needed. My number one advice is to read the instructions. Another thing to keep in mind, is the "razor" is for one time use only. You have to purchase refills which is a bummer and can cost a lot if you flash weekly. I recommend flashing once a month, that way you can go 5 months before needing to purchase refills. Plus you don't want to be that aggressive with your skin.
My second favorite tool is my BeautyBio GloPro Microneedle. This thing is something I did not know I needed. You think that your products are sinking into your skin but really most of them just sit on top. This tool helps your products penetrate the surface which allows your skin to really absorb your serum, toner, moisturizer, etc. I like to needle as much as possible, especially before doing a mask or treatment. This particular Microneedler is more expensive than others because you get way more uses then the $30 ones from Marshalls. The less expensive needle tool usually gives you up to 7 uses where with this brand you can use it for months depending on frequency of use. It also comes with a detachable head so you can change the size of your needler. You can get a small attachment for around the eyes or an x-large attachment for your body. This brand overall is amazing, I have several products from them and they are all incredible.
My third tool would have to be my steamer, I love a good steam. I love to steam right before doing a really good face scrub. Dr. Dennis Gross Pro Facial Steamer is everything. I originally bought a steamer from Amazon and that fail was so enormous. It pretty much blew hot air without steam. And I know you might be thinking, isn't hot air steam, but nope. Just think about your heat blowing high In your car, that is what it felt like, it was all wrong. But Dr. Dennis produced a at home facial steamer that is official and a must buy.
My last favorite tool is my Skin Gym Rose Quartz Crystal Facial Roller I purchased from Nordstrom. I'm convinced this stone healed my scar some time ago. I used a microdermabrasion tool from PMD that bruised my face because I held the suction in one place for too long. It ended up leaving a scar and I had to think of a way to fix it. So I did a lot of calming masks and used my rose quartz roller. That thing healed up so fast! I wish I still had the photos to share. They say these stones are used for reducing puffiness & wrinkles, boosting collagen, lymphatic drainage, skin tone and much more. I would check out all the stone rollers and use what fits you best.
Those are all my favorites! There are times that I use all the tools together during one routine, except the dermaflash and Microneedler. I never use those together. I hope you enjoyed the information!
If you have other tools you love, share them with me!
